composed by Vernon Duke in 1934 I submit to you "Autumn In New York". This jazz standard was used for the Broadway musical Thumbs Up! The rendition we are listening to was recorded by Charlie Parker (1920 - 1955), and was in his album, " Charlie Parker with Strings", ironically in the autumn, 1949. The song was released in 1950 on Mercury Records.
Charlie Parker was considered the greatest saxophone player of all time. The object of these recording was to provide Parker with more of a commercial success.
in 1995 Verve reissued these recording into a compact disk.
