Tonight, before 47 years, was the last day of the legendary music festival at Woodstock, NY, in the Catskill Mountains.
During the three, actually four days 32 performers showed their love for music and were appreciated by the (officially) audience of 400.000 people. The program was interrupted by rain several times.
This Day In Music honours the grand festival with three performers.
A legend opened the last day, Joe Cocker:
After his performance, the heavy rain delayed the show for several hours. It is said that there were a million people present, 200.000 of them remained to watch and dance and sing until the end.
Janis Joplin was the third act of the day:
The Woodstock ended well into the morning of 18th with the unforgettable performance of Jimmy Hendrix and his band.
His performance of the Star Spangled Banner and a burning guitar have marked the show since. Unforgettable.

This serial is one big trip down the memory lane of rock music.
Please remember that these artists and songs are my personal choices and are not always what you would consider “a great hit”. OK, most of the time they are.

You know, in Poland Woodstock is held annually just at this time. This is a copy of what was in the United States. But people are going around about 400,000. It is held in Kostrzyn nad Odrą.
