On the 14th of June, 2017 a 24 story building caught fire in the Royal Borough of Kensington.

This resulted in hundreds of people being burned to death. The government did not acknowledge that deregulation of the housing market is what caused this. The name of the tower block is called Grenfell.

Profit seeking housing developers used inferior materials to save a few more thousand pounds per year. These materials were highly combustible and resulted in the outside of the building catching fire, and traveling inside through windows. This rendered the inherent anti fire design of the building (built under government ownership) completely useless.

The local residents have so many times, complained to the council, and the housing developers. They were repeatedly ignored. I bet, that no-one within the company, will be held responsible (i.e. arrested for corporate manslaughter) It is exceptionally difficult (by design) to find out who the actual owners are, and who ultimately is responsible.

A favourite artist of mine, Lowkey who is of Iraqi and British descent, wrote a song along with Mia Khalil (she has such a beautiful voice) to bring more attention to this tragedy and to pay their respects to the people who lost their lives, their family, or their friends. The people in the video, are the residents of the estate.

Lowkey himself lives just across from the Grenfell Tower and many people there were his friends.
