I try not to follow this curve and I'm pretty sure I only have a mild adherence to preferences on this curve.
I listen to very little stuff from when I was a teenager or early 20s. I don't listen to the latest hits and I admit that there's some things kids today listen to that I don't really see the appeal of but that's always been true about contemporary pop music.
I would say that the more recent music that I like the easiest is reminiscent of what I preferred in my teens and twenties, but there are a lot of exceptions to that.
In 2024, this is simply an objective fact.
