Introducing Full Taqiyya

Hi there,

let me introduce myself, or more precisely, my music project. Full Taqiyya is a one man band in the genre of metal, whereby I'm not a fan of the most extreme sorts of this kind of music. I prefer more radio-friendly stuff. Think of SOAD, Disturbed, Rammstein or Linkin Park in their early days. It doesn't mean I copy them. I certainly don't. The bands I mentioned rather influenced my playing and songwriting skills - keep it simple unless sophistication is REALLY called for.

I created this project... I don't know when really. I've been writing songs non-stop for the past three years and playing in two other projects, not very satisfying ones. The one project is a cover band. So, duh. In the other, I don't really have a say. Besides, I don't really like the band leader because he's, let's say, not very tolerant of certain political opinions. And that's a biggy! On the one hand, I can't relate to such people. No honesty - no relationship (of any sort). But more importantly, my lyrics are very political and kinda supportive of the recent populist wave - I've been following Gavin McInnes and his Proud Boys for a couple of years. That certainly left a "footprint" on me. No way I could share this "explosive" stuff with the "so tolerant" rest of the band.

So, I decided, screw it. If I can't find anyone who I can trust and share my deepest thoughts with (other than my beloved wife), I just create my solo project with full control of everything.

A sneak peek of my material is this short snippet I made for a song called So Offensive. Basically, it's about interpersonal relationships in the Trump era and the absurdity of Trump-bashing, which affects dating preferences or ends friendships.

The song's called So Offensive and perhaps you already have an idea what it's about by looking at the thumbnail. Uhh, Trump supporter, so triggering. Uhh, milk is a symbol of white supremacists and so on and so forth. I hope to finish it before Christmas at the latest. The last steps include recording vocals and mixing it properly. I'm also going to make a funny music video, hope you'll enjoy it.

My overall publishing strategy is based on the premise that music albums are outdated. Especially for artists like me who don't aim at playing the Wembley or something like this. Instead of making one big release in 3 or 4 years, I like the idea of regular publishing. One song per month or per two months is realistic and I'm not off radar for too long. And the shit - good shit - will keep coming, believe me. There are at least 5 songs I could release right away. But I won't. Their time will come.
