Freeways is one of those tracks that was designed to be long and "journey-esque". The piano sample was inspired by an old Pro Tools plugin Mini Grand Piano.
The drums utilized for this track were found on Looperman - a website for royalty free loops and samples. The shuffle style drums were really the driving force behind such a track as they were relaxed in their play style and added a "push" that wasn't aggressive and helped stabilize the many guitar parts and bass lines I had incorporated.
The song itself is quite mellow and I enjoyed working with the multiple layers of guitars using delay, wah effects and some slight chorus modulation on the singular guitar lines that appear throughout the track.
Softer than many of the more electro inspired tracks that exist for this project, it was a refreshing and welcoming style.
I hope you enjoy Freeways and if there are any projects you feel it would work for, please by all means feel free to download from the embedded soundcloud on this post!
