I guess it sounds silly, and I don't use these terms very much anymore, but one night after having finished work at a particularly late hour, I was driving home and had one of the most mystical visuals of our lonely marbles only companion. The moon.
There is only one moon in our orbit, Saturn has a confirmed 12 moons in its orbit and Jupiter has a confirmed 16 but speculations are upwards of 63!
This and the fact that our moon is covered in regolith or "moon dust" (something I can't help but feel in its own right is unique and special), giving it a grey/white visual only makes it more peculiar and amazing.
To honor such a lonely rock body, I wrote the track Lunar for which I felt summed up the majesty of our existence as without it life as we know may not have been allowed to develop thanks to its gravity helping correlate earths off-kilter orbit which in turn created the seasons and effected the tides.
The celestial dance that is our cosmos is something I tried to apply with this song and by having a more melancholy approach to the track I felt it helped express a sense of immense loneliness. With this in mind, I felt that loneliness is not necessarily a bad thing and rather than it be depressing or disassociating, I wanted rather for the feeling to be reflective and allow the individual to feel at peace.
It is of coarse up to the listener and how it emotes with them is paramount as we all feel differently.
I hope you enjoyed listening to this track! Please feel free to use it for any projects you may have!
