Slave is one of my more experimental songs and was crafted with the Harmonic Minor scale to achieve a somewhat eastern soundscape.
The scale itself is interesting in that although the sound is predominantly of eastern tonality (by western standards), it's the modes that I particularly enjoy with the 5th mode of the scale "Phrygian Major" (aptly titled "Spanish Gypsy" mode in some descriptions) being particularly relevant in the track.
As can be seen above, the Phrygian Major is interesting in that it has a flattened 2nd note (the root or 1st note being in red and the flattened 2nd being in blue).
Slave as a name wasn't meant to mean anything particular as I was unsure as what to title most songs, so to go with this is purely subjective.
I used a variety of different instrumental tracks to help flesh out the track ranging from two bass lines (one being a long droning root note, whilst the other is the driving line you hear later in the track), 4 guitars, 2 of which are harmonized 4th's and a quick drone note that I utilized to somewhat act as a bouzouki like constant.
The song is free to use and I hope that it may work in someones project so please by all means enjoy and I look forward to hearing from you!
