2 years ago (to the day) I recorded this liquid DnB mix. When listening to older mixes I've recorded I'm always teleported back to exactly the mindset that I was experiencing during their creation..
At that time in my life I was in the process of many different changes that were very difficult to process, as life was seeming acting as the rug being pulled out from under me - and I realized I was very much in a mental/emotional free fall. The title of this mix "Labor of Love" was intended to represent that no matter how life was trying to beat me down , through all the extensive labor it took to keep my emotional center, I would find that "Love" was the solution to all those problems challenging me. I filled this recording with the most positive tracks I had in my possession at that time.
Looking back and listening to it this morning 2 years later I can clearly see that the mix acted as a reminder to try and Love others, no matter how they acted or treated me - as well as its also equally important to remember to Love yourself despite what seemed like my world crashing down around me.
The tracks selected tell a story through the vocals and melodies contained within - and though I usually record mixes with the intent of letting those positive sounds help others in need - this one was equally created to assist in my own personal healing as I was trying to focus on positive energy anywhere I could find it.
