Fleetwood Mac - Coming Your Way

Fleetwood Mac is definitely

one of the most famous rock bands ever, although I feel like they are more known for the Stevie Nicks era, which had some great albums, but their older stuff gets ignored by the general public. They were a band since 1967, but Nicks didn't join the band until 1974, and one of their original guitarists, the legendary Peter Green, was long gone. I have always sort of considered them as two separate bands, because the sound changed so much. The older albums were essentially blues albums with some rock and psychedelic influences. In the later years, they became much more of a '70s arena rock sort of band, using more pop structures rather than blues based ideas.

Then Play On which was the last album to feature Peter Green, and is my personal favorite. This album is not listed on Spotify, and was always hard to find for me for some reason, but upon listening to a copy my friend Andrew gave me, I was blown away. I think this album balances the blues and psych rock perfectly, and has some really interesting songwriting on it. They use some cool open tunings, specifically on 'Like Crying', and have some really long, dense instrumentals portions of other tracks. This song is the album opener, and has an awesome drive to it. Everything about it just feels so 1969 to me, sort of the perfect rock song of that era.
