This is another late night idea
which I think is definitely more coherent than last night's, though it's still sort of a mix of goofy stuff and cool stuff. I started with a PianoTeq instrument, in Track 1, which is that demo plug-in I always forget I have. It has some great piano sounds, and plays the line pictured below; unfortunately the demo version blocks some keys, so I had to move some stuff around, as there was specifically a Bb in the left hand that couldn't be used. I recorded this to audio in Track 2, with the LFOTool on the 2nd and 3rd parts, figuring it might be cool to have a sidechained sort of sound. I'm not sure how much I love this, but I think maybe a synth could play this line and be a lot cooler here. Track 3 is that LFOTool part, just moved to a new track; I intended to play around with effects, but didn't wind up doing that.
Track 4 is a ROLI synth sound
which provided the sort of fake sidechained bass sound, and played the line pictured to the right of the paragraph above. This instrument is cool, and definitely something I'll keep if I work on this more. From here on out it's all drums, hehe. Track 5 is just a 909, with a 4 on the floor kick pattern. Track 6 is a ROLI Cinematic Impact sound, which is the sort of snare-ish thing that happens. Track 7 adds some weird glitchy noises every 2 bars, which I like, and think if I leaned into that more, and got rid of the piano, this might be a cooler rough idea. Finally we have Track 8, which sort of works like a hi-hat, with a bitcrushed snare sound, though it's not super audible. Overall, a sort of weird combo of sounds, but I think if I spent some time working with this, I could find a way to make it cooler, so we'll see what happens.
Dope Sound. I like it :-)
