Greg Golden, aspiring musician

For just under two years I've been living in a random city that I moved to to make music. How much music have I made? Not much.

Originally, my band Midnight Son was supposed to all get a place together and start taking over the world. With a release of our EP, "Vol. 1", we had a decent little spark behind us. (http://midnightson.bandcamp.com) But alas, all things don't go as planned and I was left here with not a single band member joining me. That's alright, I'll try a different route. I started jamming with two of my friends in this new city; Shawn, who I went to school with in London, Ontario, and Colin. Colin was Shawn's old childhood friend. Together they had been jamming guitar and drums and needed some bass. Being a guitar player, I decided to fill that void with a unique, noise guitar influenced groove bass that made a very unique blend between us three. We currently go by 'Weller Park".

This project has been going on for almost 2 years as well, and in the midsts of recording our EP for this project, things ran a course. To this date, we've recorded guitar, bass, and drums to 2 songs, still waiting to find time to record the guitar to the others. Now, the music producer/engineer in me is going crazy trying to finish this record. Without having a singer, we've been trying to figure out the vocal melody composition, which isn't going to well. I feel a rap part in our music is necessary. Not saying we play a kinda rap/hip hop styled music but we to take influences from it. Mainly we kinda sound like a Circa Survive/Sum 41 mix, but each time we write a new song it goes into a direction that we like more and more.

This blog is just an introduction to my page. Hopefully you can follow along with my musical journey with me as I try to write, record and find ways to make money in this oh so difficult time for (aspiring) professional musician. My name is Greg Golden, thanks for reading.
