World's first ensemble using only turntables and mixers!

Hello friends and family!

Attention guys! This is a public service announcement!

Seriously, this has to be the best thing I saw in a while. If you are interested in music, in turntables and eventually a bit in classical music have a peek at what I found ;)

Yup, you read that right, The Philharmonic Orchestra is world's first ensemble only using turntables and mixers, and they have a lot of them! The video was just uploaded yesterday and starts with Mendelssohn's 'Concerto in E minor'. I hope you like it as much as I did! I have to admit I had to watch it a couple of times, it sounds strange at first but you should give it a try :) Amazing to see that they used no laptops at all.

Fascinating! As somebody who has never DJ'd, I often wonder how well the DJ has to know the record. How do you think it would sounds if everyone passed the record to the person on their right?

I never tried it myself either and I have massive respect for every "real" dj who uses vinyl and not just some lame laptop. I mean, come on. everybody can do that :P but that's a really good question, I guess you have to memorize the whole damn thing?

woah... that was weird... awesome weird!

it's a serious cacophony but it does have quite some moments here and there, especially at the end it actually does start sounding like something!

I was a bit disappointed to see it's just a viral marketing thing for Technics?!

super duper weird..! lol yeah, I had no idea it was advertisement until the end.. SMRT! then I tried to mix it myself on their website, that was pretty interesting as well. I would say, quite an entertaining experience after all :P

Wow, really nice! it somehow reminds me a bit of a concert that i visited in hamburg many years ago. It was from Carl Craig & Francessco Tristiano and Moritz von Oswald. It's different of course but it brings classic orchestras together with modern music!

This Video might be from one of the concerts from the tour:
