Just discovered the band "Shokran" from Russia. They describe themselves as "progressive oriental metal." This guitar playthrough of their song "Revival of Darkness" is FILTHY. If you're familiar w/ the modern metal scene, I'd say they're a cross between "Born of Osiris" and "Within The Ruins." Some might call their guitar player a "Russian Jason Richardson," which if you don't know Jason's playing, you should take a listen. It's spiritual guru level guitar playing.
Let me know what you think! I actually prefer this instrumental version of the song to the original. I feel like without the vocals, I'm able to pick out all of the nuances in the guitar performance, granted being a guitar player, I have a bias in terms of where my ear likes to put focus.
