Chopin Étude Op. 10, No. 3
Identified as "Tristesse" (Sadness), Chopin believed this melody to be his most beautiful one.
This is a video of me playing the Étude Op. 10, No. 3 when I was 13. (More than a decade ago)
By that time I had already passed Grade 8 piano with a distinction.

Thanks. Chopin is my favourite late romantic period composer. This is also my favourite of his works. I would have to practice for a while to play this now. It's very difficult to have a large repertoire that you can perform on the fly.

Honeybee, I hope you still play. I used to play the piano a long time ago. I only passed grade 4, but I loved playing. Then I went off to university and stopped playing. After that, for a long time I did not own a piano, so I lost so much of my meager skills. Only more than twenty years later I finally inherited my parents' piano, but now it just stands there, alone and unused. When I start to play, I just get so frustrated and give it up again and again. Your rendition is heartbreakingly beautiful. I think I shall go and try again.
