As a Bangladeshi, I am proud for my country. Not only me, everybody loves his country. Regarding the liberation war of Bangladesh, We honor a foreign musician who exposed to Bangladesh for attention to the world. He is George Harrison. George Harrison (1943 –2001) was an English guitarist, singer, song writer and producer. He achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. In the time of liberation war of Bangladesh, his contribution was outstanding and incomparable for Bangladesh.
''The Concert for Bangladesh'' was the name given to two benefit concerts organized by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar (Indian sitar master). The concerts were held 1 August 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The concerts were attended 40,000 people, and earn near about 250,000 dollar for Bangladesh relief, which was administered by United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
Till 1985, an estimated 12 million dollar had been sent to Bangladesh in relief by the revenue from the ''Concert for Bangladesh'' live album and film. Today George Harrison expired from the world. But He is still alive in our mind. We remember him with honor. Salute to you (George Harrison)
