Music Jukebox #10 – Covers
The reason I chose covers today was because of Bonfire’s latest album “Legends” which was released few days ago. I loved and today I am gonna some of my favorite covers.
Deservingly first, Bonfire with the Toto classic “Africa”. I believe they gave it a more modern metallic sound and it is awesome.
Many people think this is an original Saxon song. Well , it’s not. It’s a Cristopher Cross cover, but Saxon did so great job covering that it is considered their own.
Generally, I don’t like Minniva’s cover because they luck personality. But this is a glaring exception. She takes two songs seemingly completely different and makes them one. If hear this cover without knowing the song you will think this a beautiful and original tune. Hope I will hear more from Minniva in the future.
Metalheads used to hate the electropop genre back in the 80s and 90s. But things have changed and we love all kinds of good music. And they changed because of covers like that from one of the most popular heavy metal bands out there.
The post wouldn’t be complete without one of my favorite covers of all time. The extreme dark metallers cover our fellow countrymen Septic Flesh.
