I'm an old school music listener. I use Winamp. I have 222 Gb of music on my computer. That's about 28 500 songs. I've been collecting music as long as I remember and I still occasionally buy a CD or two from local second hand shops, if I can get the CD for under 5 euros and if it has music that I think I've never heard. At home I convert the songs to mp3:s to my computer so it's easier to listen randomly everything I have.
I also buy music from couple of places in the internet because if I hear something I really like, I think buying the song(s) is the best way to support the artist. I prefer buying the songs directly from the artist or from a provider that pays most of the money to the artist. But of course sometimes there aren't that many options. One thing I do not do is pay a monthly fee just to listen music. If all else fails, I think I can manage just fine for couple of months listening the music I already have. Even if I played it 24/7. And then start a new cycle.
I wouldn't even have to listen the same song twice now that I have a fix for that. At first as I added all the songs I have to Winamp and although it was in random mode, it seemd to play the same 30 to 50 songs over and over again. And that was really irritating. I mean, no-one has payed to my Winamp to play Tina Turner Proud Mary ten time a day. At least I hope so. And although I really like the song, everything get's boring after enough repetition. I think the random that isn't random was because I have too many songs, so the random was like playlists on the radio. The old timer thing that I never listen because it gets boring after 10 minutes.
Tourist LeMC - Horizon (feat.Spiritually Wally)
So now I have a code extension in my Winamp that if chosen, deletes the song from the playlist that it just played. That way it can't come back to the song ever again. Not until it has deleted all the songs from the playlist and I start a new round by adding all the songs I have to the Winamp playlist again. Also every time I hear a song that I don't like to listen ever again, I can easily find where it is and delete the whole file.
Tiktak - Tuuleksi Taivaanrantaan
I have a weird feeling that I've mentioned this Winamp thing here before, but can't be bothered to search for the possible first mention. Oh well, repetition is sometimes a good thing.
But why Winamp? Well, mostly because I hate creating yet another account to another service available out there.
The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Drive Like Lightning (Crash Like Thunder)
Secondly because Winamp has not failed me. It never crashes and after the tweaks it's been perfect for my needs. I hate changing anything that is good and working to a new one that I have no idea if it works, just for the sake of change. If it works, don't change it and don't fix it! That's the same reason I don't change my phone that often. If it still works so that I can call and occasionally send texts with it or check something from the internet and the battery isn't all dead, I will learn to manage with all the other faults it has, that really aren't the phones fault but the manufacturers or the App providers, because they happen to think that the latest and the greatest is the only thing that matters. I hate throwing something away because it's outdated but still fully functional. That is, if there still would be updates available so that the hardware would work.
I also have tons of old and weird-ass music on my computer that can't be found in any of the popular music streaming services. Some I can't even find from YouTube.
But of course I am also constantly searching for new music. Anywhere possible. Where I don't have to create yet another account. Free listening and if possible, free downloading, but I am also willing to pay for my downloads.
Bloodywood - Ari Ari ft. Raoul Kerr
Actually, new or old music. I don't care. As long as it's new for me.
And this is as good place as any to find new tunes.
So give me your best shot!
Hit me with a link or two.
Röyksopp - Senior Living
Songs that you like.
Or perhaps something that mostly just irritates you and you want to make other people suffer too.

What can I say, old school. I also sometimes listen my CD:s but can't brag with listening LP:s because I sold my LP player several years ago. :)

Some good tunes there mate but I'd expect that from a quality chap like yourself. Only 28,000 tracks? Bloody hell mate, that's not very many! 🤣👍👊

Well, I would have 28000 plus one if you would have suggested me a song. And yes, I already have few Five Finger Death Punch on my list so you have to suggest something else.

Thanks! I love that song. And completely new to me. Perhaps I should get more than just one song from that one. :)

I use to have my music collection on a hard drive and I used Exile music player and I really love it, until my hard drive died and then switched over online streaming services and yeah maybe the cloud is a good thing but if it disappears it will do with my data as well.

If my hard drive died, I'd be more worried about all the other important stuff there than the music. But that's why I have three more hard drives as backup stores. To avoid things from just disappearing. I don't trust clouds and don't want to pay for them because it would cost more than some old hard drives that I have.
But hey, where's your music suggestion? :) I'm waiting for it here anxiously!

In fact I still get mad at loosing all my pictures and projects I used to work on. That taught me to use more cloud storage (which I know you don't like) but its a way to access data online. Maybe you can look for Sonambulo Psicotropical costa rican band.

I also years ago lost once almost all of my important stuff on my hard drive and that taught me to backup my files frequently. Thank you for the link and the music suggestion! :)
