Hello fellow Steemians!
Have you ever watched famous pianists like Billy Joel, Steve Winwood, Bill Evans, Elton John, or Liberace and wished that you had learned to play piano, but feel like it’s too late?
I’m here to tell you that it’s never too late to start learning!
My name is Isaria and I’m a Musician and Educator.
I have a Bachelors in Music, and for over 15 years I have been teaching students of all ages how to play piano and become musicians.
I started playing piano at age 6 and began writing my own music at age 18.
Music isn’t just something I do, it’s an integral part of who I am as a person.
Sharing that part of myself with other people and helping them to achieve their goals and dreams is why I feel I have been put on this Earth.
Piano lessons can be expensive and traveling to weekly lessons can be difficult for busy adults.
Teaching and helping people are two of the joys in my life, so I would like to offer my fellow Steemians an opportunity to learn to play piano!
(Another joy in my life is my love of cats. If I could combine all these joys and teach cats how to play piano I would!)
During my teaching career, I have developed a 3 month All-In-One Accelerated Beginner’s Piano Course that I use for my own private students.
You will Learn:
- How to play piano
- How to read sheet music
- Music theory
- Ear training
- Technique
This 3 month course is a total of 12 lessons.
A $400 value which I’m offering for FREE right here on Steemit!
Each weekly lesson will include a PDF download of all sheet music used in that week's lesson.
The best part of video lessons is that you can watch them more than once if need be!
By the end of my Beginner’s Course you will be able to play and read the sheet music for such classics as Fur Elise, The Entertainer, and even learn to play some Blues.
During my 15 plus years of teaching, I’ve heard countless people tell me that they wish they had learned to play piano.
Some tell me that they can play a little by ear, but wished they had learned to read sheet music as well.
I’ve even seen comments like these here on Steemit!
The thought expressed by these individuals is that it’s too late, but it isn’t!
I’ve taught many adults over the years and most had never even touched a piano.
It was amazing to see how much they progressed in a short amount of time.
Throughout the years, I’ve noticed these reactions time and time again from my adult students:
- The joy of finally learning something they had always wanted to do.
- The ability to eventually be able to pick out a piece of sheet music and learn it on their own.
- The happiness they expressed knowing that they were creating their own musical experience.
- Satisfaction, confidence and peace from having a creative outlet to express themselves.
Sometimes people feel like they can’t learn to play because they don’t have a real piano, but you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on a piano!
There are a variety of relatively inexpensive keyboards available on Amazon.com.
A full size keyboard has 88 keys, but there are also 76 key and 61 key keyboards.
You can still learn how to play even using the smallest sized keyboard since the manufacturers just take of the very highest and lowest keys which you don’t really need in the beginning anyway.
If you aren’t ready to start at this time, it’s ok.
All the lessons will be here on my Steemit page and also on my YouTube channel if you ever want to start!

I’ll be posting Lesson 1 in the next few days so if you’ve always wanted to learn to play, or if you play a little and want to learn more then follow me @isaria.
Here are 5 Tips for a Successful and Enjoyable Learning Experience:
- Don’t be so hard on yourself!
Learning anything new can be tricky, so don’t expect perfection. Making mistakes is part of the learning experience. - Breaking down large challenges in to small achievable goals increases your chances of success and also helps with avoiding frustration.
Try working on a song 2 measures at a time. Once you feel successful with the first 2 measures, work on the next 2, and then combine them.
Also, if you are consistently making mistakes in the same area of a song, work on that section separately instead of just continuing to practice the entire song start to finish. - Set a consistent practice schedule.
You will achieve greater results by practicing every day for 5 minutes than by practicing once a week for a half hour.
Our brains need the consistency of daily exposure in order to effectively progress.
Practicing 20 minutes a day or more is optimal, but not always feasible, so just do what you can on a daily basis, even if it’s only 5 minutes!
With that all being said, every day for 5 minutes might not be possible and that’s ok!
Another option is to practice for 4 or 5 days a week for 10 minutes at a time.
The important idea here is consistency. Setting some sort of schedule that works for you will increase your chances of success. - Slow down!
People tend to play very quickly when they are practicing a difficult piece. The frustration causes us to want to get through the process quickly and get to the end result. I catch myself doing this as well at times when I’m practicing.
Slow and steady wins the race!
We need to slow down and give our brains a chance to communicate with our hands!
You could practice something 20 times in a row, very quickly, making the same mistake every time and getting more and more frustrated each time you play it, but a better way is to simply slow down.
It can feel counter-intuitive, but it works!
Find the slowest tempo that you need in order to achieve a steady beat with no mistakes.
Once it starts to get into your muscle memory then the tempo will increase naturally. - Don’t expect or demand speedy results from yourself.
Learning something new takes time.
Try to enjoy the journey and celebrate successes, no matter how small you may think they are!

lol I'm trying to get my cat to play piano but all he does is either walk across the keys or lay on them, he's not a very good student! lol
I'm starting from the very beginning with these lessons for people that have no musical experience at all so the first few lessons will probably be too basic and easy for you, but I hope the rest of the videos can help you!
Thanks so much for reading my post!!!

wow thank you! I've played the piano for many years reading music sheets and I would love to learn more about harmony because I make electronic music, more by ear for the moment. Do you plan to give any courses on that part? thanks a lot for what you give! what a gift to us! :)
