There are many ways to verify yourself. Some are:
- You post a picture of yourself holding something with Steem/Steemit written on it along with your handle and date.
- You could tweet with your official twitter account and post the link to the tweet here. [Assuming you have a good fan base].
- You could make a video of yourself talking about Steem and you can link it here.
