I uploaded a midi file I created of the sheet music I bought for this song. All of the chords and melody line for the right hand are written in octaves. Quite difficult, (read impossible for me) to play, plus NOBODY plays the intro as written...SO...
Here is MY version, played live (with a few warts) of the Twelfth Street Rag, by Euday L Bowman.
I make NO CLAIM to ownership of this song, just the video.

Pretty good remix if you could call it that. How long have you been a musician and is it hard playing the piano?

I will be 62 next month. I started Piano Lessons at age 11. I took private lessons (during the school year, not during the summer) for 6 yrs.
It came to me naturally. I don't say that I didn't have to work (mainly on training my hands) but even that was easier for me than my contemporaries.
If you watched the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", the piano playing character (real person played by himself) was Joe Odom, from my home town.
I took my first two years from the same teacher that he had. I got a firm grounding in music, in reading music, but she absolutely refused to allow me to play pop music, and told me 'do NOT play by ear, it will ruin you'.
Today, almost all I do in creating midis etc is by ear.
THIS song I bought the music for. Ragtime is very demanding. (I've been playing for 51 yrs now)
