Hi Steemers,
Part 2/episode 4 of The Magical Island series will be on it's way in the next day or two, but in the meantime I wanted to share one of my tracks that I produced this year. As I mentioned in my "journey through sound" post before, I've been making electronic music for the last 15 years, most of which, has been Drum & Bass, though I have also done other styles too such as house, Breaks, Dubstep and Reggae, mostly bass driven music.
I have a huge back catalogue of music, but I wanted to share the one I had most fun making this year which is entitled "Emergence" and is a drum & bass track with a deep driving bass. Some folk term this style liquid drum & bass, but music is music to me :) I sampled parts of monologue by Alan Watts and Jake Ducey plus a short female vox sound for the vocals and all other sounds, editing, arrangement and mix-down are my original work.
Over the years my Drum & Bass tracks have evolved from much darker, more club type stuff to largely more emotional or subjective type stuff, more chilled in other words with a bit more story behind them, though sometimes I have to let the beast out and I go dark haha, it's all about the contrast! ;)
I'm not certain how drum & bass will go down on steem but I hope you enjoy and thanks for having a listen folks :)
With love,
Jon
