"Johnny B. Goode" Guitar Lesson and Intro to Theory, Vol. III

in music •  8 years ago

Well, Steem-Os, this is it, the final installment of this three-part lesson on Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" and intro to basic blues and lead theory for guitar.

To wrap up this episode, here are the two minor pentatonic scale patterns ("blues scales") you should know by now and be practicing like a madman! Are you getting fast yet?

Finally, this lesson I officially introduced the basic major scale (Ionian) pattern. Get good at this, too, as it will become indispensable as you develop your chops.

If you are feeling lost on the theory stuff at this point, please don't worry. Just keep practicing the patterns and having fun. In next week's lesson we will begin a more in-depth discussion of the theory from the ground up, complete with more exercises to help you develop your shredder skills.

So, without further ado, here's the video! Thanks again for joining me! Peace!!!
