The great gig to the sky

Rock has become one of the successfully accepted music genres that became prominent in the 20th century. The Pink Floyd gave Rock music a new dimension in London in the 60's. With a fusion of guitar, bass and vocal percussion, there arose a distinguishing music art that changed the world's orientation about instrumental music.

This music movement started in London with the coming together of a team of skilled instrumentalists, who were students in 1965. Syd Barrett used the guitar as well as standing as the lead vocals. Nick Mason played on the drums, Roger Waters specialized on bass and vocals, and Richard Wright played on the keyboard as well as assisted with the vocals. All these individuals enjoyed unprecedented success in the London music scenery. This made it possible for their music to go beyond the shores of Europe into the borders of America. By the year 2013, the Pink Floyd took the entire universe by surprise through the selling of over a 250 million copies of their music.

Here are some of the guidelines that enhanced the successful rock music career of Pink Floyd:

1. They started little

The earlier pioneers of this type of music, Roger Waters and Nick Mason, met at the London Polytechnic while pursuing a degree in Architecture. Waters was known for playing his guitar, while Mason played on his drum. Later on, Richard Wright joined the group with the ability to play on keyboards. Their private performances and rehearsals were held in a tea room at the basement of Regent Street Polytechnic.

2. They strengthened relationship ties

This group had other prominent individuals that later joined the band to extend its music across Europe. A host of them include signing a business partnership with Blackhill Enterprise. The enterprise ensured that all legal matters were handled professionally without disrupting the activities of the singers.

3. They played psychedelic music

This type of rock music emerged in the 60's. Many fell so much in love with it because the music had hallucinatory effect. So many individuals keyed into the genre because the style of music had the conceptual freedom the alter the minds of many. This effect was very close to hallucination. There were a few noticeable effects which points the direction toward electronic guitar, studio effect and the element of Easter music. All of these factors made it possible for the band members possess the freedom to create a style of music that became universally accepted.

4. They signed with EMI

Most of the time, getting signed under a record label enhances the prospects of a music career. The Pink Floyd signed with EMI, making it easy for the record label to release some of their songs. They are 'Arnold Lyne,' on March 10, 1967, "See Emily Play" on June 6, same year, and a host of others. You could also experience the unparalleled level of success which the Pink Floyd enjoy over the last few decades. They had the freedom to explore and experiment the technical side of music, in order to reach out to the entire universe.

Great post! My favourite songs by PF are 'Comfortably numb' and 'any colour you like' Playing those songs, I allways get into this weird state where I get drawn into every note played, every beat on the drums, closing out the outside world. Like being high, eventhough i've never touched drugs in my life.

Thank you so much! These are really great songs. I always get goosebumps hearing comfortably numb :)

Tolle Band! Ich mag sie sehr!! ist mal eine tolle Abwechslung im vergleich zu dem, was man so im radio hört :D
