Hi Steemit Users,
Please take a moment or two, to listen to my track, written in the style of Pink Floyd….
(Brief write-up Below…)
The 'Vibe' of Floyd, has inspired many artists to incorporate a variety of 'trippy' elements in to their music.
To gain a true understanding of their song writing methods, I analysed many of Pink Floyd's tunes, by taking note of any common occurrences throughout their work.
After a few minutes on the keyboard, I began structuring the song similarly to Pink Floyd's 'Sheep' (from the album Animals).
The electric piano on 'Sheep' is heard predominantly throughout the beginning, offering a rather menacing first impression…
This was an element I was hopeful to capture in this Track, as it sets the tone, as if one were to feel out of place.
I also took inspiration from the album 'The Dark side of the moon'… This is where the simple 2 chord verse structure began to become more prevalent within their work. Proving no hassle for the rest of the band to season the sound, along with a sprinkle of David Gilmours extravagantly overused tremolo.
This is by far the most cliché track I have ever made, however it was a thoroughly enjoyable process, that is, if anything, a tribute to the legacy of Pink Floyd.
Furthermore, I do not claim to know the real method of songwriting, that brought upon so much success for the band in the mid 70's.
Although the drugs and vibrant light shows may have played a small part, I do believe it was the dedication to their craft, that ensured them all with a steady and somewhat permanent career.
