It’s the kind of thunder that foretells a perfect storm of sound.
Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra – “Bade Zile”
“Bade Zile” (2016)
This joyous song blends various energetic and lively sounds from Africa and Haiti.
Rhythmic and Exuberant
“Bade Zile” features a backdrop of powerful natural beats that provide a smooth and subtle rhythm. Deftly layered on top of the polyphonic backbeat, we get perfect accents from guitar and bass, along with plenty of exuberant vocals.
Thunder to Your Ears
While the lyrics for this song are unavailable, a YouTube comment implies that the title could mean something like “The Spirit of Thunder.” Apparently, it’s the kind of thunder that foretells a perfect storm of sound. (Image source)Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra
The Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra was planned as a one-off performance, initiated and promoted by the French Institute in Haiti.
Come Together, Across the Ocean
The institute’s director brought together Afro-beat pioneer Tony Allen and a wide cross-section of Haitian musicians. The plan was for the musicians to compose some songs together, and then perform them at a large public performance, which was to be broadcast throughout the island.
Smoke on the Island
However, various obstacles arose – including a smoke bomb, and then the failure of some of the sound equipment. Nevertheless, as evidenced by this vid, they did manage to put on a fine performance. Moreover, they cobbled together much of the music on the self-titled album. According to PopMatters (USA), the album “Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra” was one of “The 12 Best World Music Albums of 2016.” (Image source)Reference – SoundCloud.com/glitterbeat

A rhythm with a lot of cohesion. It shows the tribal characteristic of the Haitian people.
Traditional voices together with the way of life of the population express their desire to innovate and emerge through music.
In the background it is a simple rhythm of measures of two repetitive notes throughout the theme.
Likewise, the concern to highlight the sound of the percussion, at the same time, that they rely on the most basic equipment possible, a guitar with overdrive distortion and some flanking effect during the Riff; a bass that marks the background notes a battery that takes advantage of the acoustics if effects, or patches of digital sound, likewise, the synthesizer (keyboard) intervening in the song with small harmonic details.
