Maryell Finisterre – “Strangers in The Night”

“Strangers in The Night” (2018 – original from 1966)  

Accompanied by only piano, Maryell Finisterre brings us this touching rendition of Frank Sinatra’s hit, “Strangers in The Night.”  

Warm and Intimate

In this song, her delivery is almost operatic in mood, but with the warmth and intimacy of a small nightclub.  It’s romantic and captivating, like “a warm, embracing dance.    

In 1966, “Strangers in The Night”  was a Number 1 hit for Sinatra. Over the years, it’s been covered by dozens of great artists.

Maryell Finisterre

Born in Mexico, Maryell Finisterre is a singer of jazz and swing tunes. Her parents were amateur actors who occasionally staged public theater performances – kinda like drama busking. 

Modern-day Minstrel

Maryell eventually moved to Bath, UK, and started busking with her boyfriend.

Although now she often performs on stage and even in the studio, she still loves the close feeling that a performer gets from busking. She has compared it to minstrelry, which she refers to as a “very ancient and very human tradition”
