Thoughts on STEEM so far and seeing it as a potential rescue vehicle for music

I've been snooping around a bit on this platform, however, I'm not sure if I completely get the whole thing just yet.
So far it seems that it's a great platform to share some valuable content which can result in payment for your efforts.

So this got me thinking; could STEEM potentially save the dying world of independent musicians?
Platforms like Spotify, YouTube sure do pay artists a little, but unless you have millions of plays or views this won't amount to much (I'm talking $10 or so for anything below 400.000 plays on Spotify for example).

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and I'd love to see if there's any interest here at all from people to hear new original work.
If so, I'd be happy to do a test run with some of my own work. Naturally, the music needs to be of proper standard... :P

You're right, it really can and does help musicians.

For example, we have:

thanks for all the valuable tips!! sweet!

Yes Steemit is a good tool for musicians. Also there is Peertracks which is about to be a major game changer in the music industry as well as the crypto space.

awesome! Didn't know about Peertracks, will check it out as well!

Yes steemit is a great place to blog about your music but you have to write something about it because it is primarily a blogging site, I am looking forward to a more soundcloud style crypto platform that works like steemit but this has not been achieved yet, maybe synereo will be good, maybe not. I'm sure someone could code a more music based version of steemit tho..

Yeah that would be insane! Could probably do the same for movies as well.
Steemit could also just work on a branch for music alone, why use all different platforms?

Hey. I'm new here and this is the first post I have read. I am a music producer and feel that unless you have a big name backing you, its almost impossible to get any real play or pay out of the industry.
