Get Some Jazz Steemit #13 - Norah Jones

in music •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey Steemit!

Today, yes, another ”Get Some Jazz Steemit” post.

Climate in Buenos Aires has been weird today, a mix of heat and rain made this day kind of melancholic, and a song of Norah Jones came to my mind, "Peace".

On this song of her last album (really beautiful one by the way), she got an amazing rhythmic section, with my all-time-favorite drummer Brian Blade and the incredible Chris Thomas on double bass.

Funny thing is that both Blade and Thomas play together in the Brian Blade & the Fellowship Band, probably my favorite musical project ever, which has been around for more than 20 years now.

I've never been a great fan of Norah Jones, she has some really beautiful songs, I know, but somehow music stores in Argentina made me avoid her music.
Everytime you would go to the so called "Jazz" albums stands, you would see just a couple of interesting Jazz albums, and infinite rows of Norah's albums, which at that time were kind of mainstream.

Aside from that, when you finally have access to lots of different artists thanks to the internet, you (or at least I) learn to appreciate those that were always at hand, hence I decided to post this song today.

As always, I hope you enjoyed the song.
