For the sake of a thumbnail and internet cool points, here's a photo I took of Replicant performing in Detroit in the Summer of 2015 at UFO Factory.

Alright!

I get a break to sit down, to once again bestow upon y'all three tracks that have been a bit more than prominent on my current ever-changing, ever-cycling, ever-evolving personal playlist that keeps me occupied as I do work, stuff, and things.

I'll cut to the chase and leave the tracks, maybe with a little information attached to them so that you can hurry up and check them out and hopefully give me a bit of feedback or share some tracks of your own with me or someone else in the comments.

Track #1
ARIEL PINK - LIPSTICK (From the album "Pom Pom") <-- Click the link, it'll take you to where you can buy the album on discogs.com.

This video in particular is fucking weird. It's chopped up from a slasher movie from 1980 by William Lustig, called "Maniac." If you're interested in learning more about the movie, it can be found here on IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081114/

Track #2
SOFT KILL - WHIRL (From the album "Choke.") <-- Click album name to surf to "I wanna buy this shit on Discogs," land.

The video chopped for this was from the movie "The Trip," from 1967. Learn more about it on IMDB here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062395/

Track #3
REPLICANT - BLACK LIGHT

Marketplace for this track is here --> https://www.discogs.com/Replicant-Black-Light/release/7376881

That's all I've got for tonight.

Got something along similar lines? Got something you'd like to share? No one is stopping you, so do it! SHARE! Broaden our horizons.

Until next time,

Sort Order:

Orbital "Halcyon... And on and on" / "Dr. Who Theme Song"
Vivaldi "The Four Seasons"
Rancid "And Out Comes The Wolves"

Orbital, YES! Specifically that song.

Also Vivaldi is cool, I actually do like listening to classical music, but on headphones.

Rancid, YES. Early teenage years, I was all about them as well as Operation Ivy.

You get cool points for this post, @nepd.

Op Ivy,Rancid, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Urge... those were my 90's :)

I hadn't busted out my Orbital stuff in a long time, but randomly flipped to a movie and they were featured. Good memories.

Hackers?! That's the movie that had Halcyon in it.

Triple X, although now I have to go watch Hackers again. Thanks a lot.

Like the 80s electro-punk style from the second video.

I'm also in some electro phase besides rock now. Here are some tracks I enjoy:

Well acquainted with Kavinsky!

Haven't heard Jan Blomqvist, will check them out. Thanks!

Jan Blomqvist is more modern, but I like that part where I put the link. This have been just a random selection of what I like. Kavinsky is cool, and Drive is one of my favourite movies.

I listened to the whole hour long set and liked it. I'll definitely be checking more out along those lines, thanks a lot for the suggestion!

I thank you, for starting to post some interesting music. This is steemit about, to exchange ideas and earning by doing so.

The set is one of my favourite from him, especially the Dancing People are never wrong theme.

Oh, man. I never saw the original maniac that's used for that first music video. But, by the looks of it, it looks 100 times better than the remake they did which was awful.

Anyways, thanks for sharing these! I'm not too into electronic or synth style music (At least that's what I would classify these songs as, but with all the subgenres out there maybe I'm wrong, haha), but I really liked Lipstick and Whirl at least. I think partly because the tone of those two really give me an 80's music vibe, lol.

Wish I could recommend you some stuff to check out, but I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't like my taste of music, haha.

You'd be surprised, man. My music taste is literally all over the place, always. I don't discriminate (much) haha.

Well, before I suggest anything would you discriminate against metal music? Haha. I'd say like 70 percent of what I listen to is a sub genre of some form of metal, though there's plenty different types. I know metal/heavy progressive rock isn't for everyone though :P

Definitely not! Share whatever you want!

Here's a few songs I've been listening to in the past few days to check out then! Tried not to make all of them super metalish, haha.

  • Silent Flight Parliament by Between the Buried and Me
  • Scarlet- Periphery
  • Tooth and Claw- Animals As Leaders
  • Hands In The Sky (Big Shot)- Straylight Run
  • One of Us Is the Killer- The Dillinger Escape Plan

Great music @matt-a . I like this style. More like ethnic motifs merge with electronic music. Here, for example, Ukrainian band ONUKA. Sorry for my English.)))

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely check it out. I like a lot of old USSR-era stuff like Виктор Цой/Кино́ and Агата Кристи.

By the way, your English is nearly perfect in terms of grammar/punctuation, but in terms of me being able to understand it, you're perfect.

Кино и Аквариум - two groups, which in my youth led me to the passion for music. I even played in a rock band and wrote songs.))

great post ! @matt-a !

you get a break to sit down, to once again bestow upon y'all three tracks that have been a bit more than prominent on your current ever-changing, ever-cycling, ever-evolving personal playlist that keeps you occupied as l do work, stuff, and things. yeah ! !

The first pic was fire. The aesthetics of the shot are real!

Thanks! I actually recorded their set and took a few shots. If you're interested, I can share the set.

I forgot about clicking this post.
I've just been listening to SOFT KILL - Whirl.
It sounds so good!
To me a little bit shoegazey even but bloody brilliant.
I just got lost in a beautiful enchanting trance this song creates.

I haven't been listening to much recently but I think I'm going to buy some Soft Kill albums.

Thank you for sharing all of these great picks @matt-a! :)

You definitely wont go wrong picking up some Soft Kill albums! Glad I could expose ya to some stuff you can enjoy. You're welcome!

You ever listen to any Gary Stewart, Waylon Jennings, Tom T. Hall, or any stuff like that?

Yes, Sir, I do. Mainly Hank Jr, Merle, Asleep at the Wheel, Waylon and Willie. I also like Zep and Ozzy. But, remember, even the Rolling Stones know, Bob Wills is still the King lol.

nice post ! nice music ! keep it up !

I now listen to the song of the Leningrad band about the bitcoins. Very funny song, but it's in Russian :)

That first track sounds lovely and soft against the lyrical content & the video, it's kind of genius.

Not sure if you know of them already but here's one you might like from Metronomy:

I haven't checked this band out before, but will certainly give them a listen. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think that ARIEL PINK - LIPSTICK is the one that impressed me the most however the 3 tracks are so good but I preferred that one

Yeah, that song definitely rules haha. Glad you liked it!

Damm this is so amazing to listen had a great time listening to it thanks for sharing
