So today I stumbled upon a 25 sons in 25 days challenge. Day 1 calls for a song from your childhood.
I had to think long and hard on this one as there wasn't a song that immediately stuck out. Aside from the Incy Wincy Spider - but that'd be corny to share.
It took me a while to think of the earliest song I can remember. Then it dawned on me my grandmother had a favorite song. I remember it was Celia Cruz but forgot the name of the song. And after some searching it was "Guantanamera".
If you're wondering the meaning of the song according to Wikipedia:
"Guantanamera" (Spanish: "from Guantánamo, feminine" indicating a woman from Guantánamo) is perhaps the best known Cuban song and that country's most noted patriotic song, especially when using a poem by the Cuban poet José Martí for the lyrics.
Looking over the list, some of these songs are going to be easy - while some are going to take a lot of thought!
Stay tuned for more tomorrow...
