Cave Recording - "The Hipster Song"

Here's an original song I wrote last year at the Macedonian rainbow gathering in May 2017.

The inspiration was that if the gathering became popular we'd have hipsters (or fake hippies with a high level of consumer attitude) coming and shitting on our lovely nest.

If you don't know what a hipster is it may best be described thusly, "Someone who looks like a dirty crusty punk but lacks the smell, has perfectly aligned patches on their jacket, puts organic coconut oil in their hair, goes to fancy hipster cafes and drinks gluten free craft beer and still works as a professional or in a normal 9-5 job."

It's the image of revolution but lacking the revolution.

So, at the rainbow gathering a couple of times we ran out of coffee and sugar (and chocolate but that wasn't quite as necessary) and it was the end of the world because our brain chemistry was fucked without it and everyone was grumpy. I considered what it would be like to be in post-apocalypse and we didn't have these things that society provided as staples and in the evenings we would be dreaming about privatisation and stupid people to do our work.

It's a little bit dark but also honest.

How many cycles of civilisation from community to capitalism have we been through?

I don't believe the current version of events as dictated by organised society. I surmise we've been through a few hundred and humanity is a lot older than currently projected.

But hey, do your own mind fucking and come to your own conclusions.
