Get On The Time Machine

Another dose of some epic Cape Town home grown music, I would like for introduce Goodnight Wembley. This rock, grunge group started of as a side project by the lead signer George from Taxi Violence and my good friend Nic Gaud who's the lead singer of 7th Son and I've reviewed them time or two. They were working together and one day got the idea of starting something new which was a break away from both the established sounds of their bands, and that's just how it happened. The band's big musical inspiration came from other bands they loved listening to like Black Sabbath, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin, Black Crows, the Black Keys, Parlour Mob and the Raconteurs, to name a few. In the beginning they played around with a few different members and just before recording their first album they got the perfect team. Well as far as I remember, most of this is taken from memory, it's not like this is documented all over the place.

They did pretty well in a very short amount of time and headlining all the local festivals, that what happens when established musicians get together and create epic side projects. Some of the stories from what happened on tour was just some funny, but unfortunately not something I can elaborate on here. Tour life is basically like the Vegas rule, what happens on tour, stays on tour. Hope you guys enjoy the sweet sounds, and please check out more of their work.
