The musicians connection with their fans

Think about it... When was the last time you truly connected with the people that love your content and when you did, when was the last time they were able to respond? The streaming world created a large barrier for a true physical connection between fans and musicians. Music is about sharing, loving and creating together. Lets see how we come back to that.

1. Social groups

The voice of someone who presses play on all your songs should heard. A core group of music fans can say a lot about the way people feel when listening to your songs. Get a group together of 20 of your favourite, most hardcore fans and add 10 new listeners to that. Do it on Linkedin, Facebook or Whatsapp. Whatever suits your preference. Talk to them like you are just jamming out with them. Connecting with them on a 1 on 1 level. It is a great way to interact with your fans while creating a true bond with them.

2. Livestreaming

Livestreaming is the greatest opportunity musicians have right now. Truely jam out with your fans and get new ones. Livestreaming not only gives you the opportunity to be creative around your fans but it is also heavily boosted by all social platforms. What does this mean I hear you ask? This means that the algorithm of say facebook will be more likely to boost you to the top of the newsfeed getting YOU more fans!

3. Concerts with fans

Please don't forget about the offline world! People often forget that musicians are music lovers themselves. Weird right? But think about how you see your favourite artist, they are almost godlike. Become normal by annoucing that you are going to concert with your entourage. This allows the fans to meet you while you can enjoy your passion from the other side. Levelling you out with your fans! Sure this won't work for the 30 million copy selling artist. Although he/she could simply do a q&a jam sessions with fans before the start of the concert. It is all about strengthening the connection after all.

4. Blockchain

Yes, it comes back to blockchain again! It just works well, we can't help it. Blockchain allows for a more direct connection because it eliminates any middlemen. Direct transactions between you and your fans. This works for music, merch and concert tickets. But also potentially the other way around if you want to give back to your fans. Also, the sign of appreciation we know, a press of play, could change to direct tipping with products like Volareo. This strengthens the bond! Sounds good? Sign up to our newsletter here.

Wise words @musicblockchain. I think number 3 is the most important. Many musicians spend too much time online (me) and neglect the live music world. The blockchain does bring some exiting possibilities though so I'm all for it. Now back to practice.

Keep up the good work!
