Look... I find the song cringe and it ain't my cup of tea. But it was written by a marketing department as a love letter to those who are proud of their traditional small-town culture and think cities, especially modern ones, are full of shit and want no part of urban trends they find crazy, dangerous, and destructive.

You can't, I don't know... Argue against such cultural leanings and win or something. The marketing department did a good job appealing to their target audience, and their spokesman (including whether or not he's from a small town or whatever else that's irrelevant) doesn't even matter.

Some city stuff is shitty. So is the song. Some country stuff is shitty, including country music. The average listener isn't automatically racist, and claiming they are isn't an own they'll recognize rather than proof to them that the accusation is unfounded and all you got in your toolbox.

Look... Personally, I live in a city and want to move to a smaller town for a variety of reasons. Cultural segregation isn't one of those reasons, and the only country songs I've ever liked my wife reminds me are actually southern rock.

But if you prefer that culture, or prefer city culture, or something in between, if you prefer highland or lowland or sea steading, mountains or oceans or whatever, this nation or that nation, and think it's better than the alternatives, you do you and be proud of whatever your thing is, I guess.

I just don't get why everyone that isn't even a fan cares all that much. Like... Gangsta rap advocates immorality, love songs oversimplify, pop is plastic, shit I like tends to be a bit pretentious, jazz is schizophrenic, gospel believes things I don't, whatever. If it makes you happy, listen, and if it don't, don't.
