To begin, let me refresh your memory with the definition of music. Music is the expression of a feeling through the combination of sound with rhythm. There are different kinds of sound, one of them is called a note . There is percussive sound, produced by drums. There are also other synthetic sounds that mimic air and nature. You can program the electric keyboard to get different sounds that suit your sound need at a particular time. These sounds are applied to create either a song or any other music piece. Although, many people think that music is the same thing as a song, music is more than a song. Rather, a song is a part of music. There are different types of music pieces. One, for example, is symphony. You must have heard of ‘Fur Elise,’ one of Beethoven’s symphonies. Symphony is a melodic/harmonic composition without words. Producers also combine sounds every time, to make beats, background effects, among others. So, a song is not music in its entirety. It is a collection of notes and words that follows a melody. A song can be harmonized, and if you want to find the key of the song, listen to the melody. A key is one peculiar word you will keep hearing throughout your experience as a vocalist. So, let us examine what a key really is. “What Is A Key?” A key can be defined as the central note of a melody. “What Is A Note?” A note is a musical sound that has duration and distinct quality. It can be noticed when you sustain your speech or spoken word. Seven naturally occurring, and an additional five accidental notes have been identified, making it twelve notes altogether. One of these 12 notes, is the key. When you are listening to a song, it is a combination of different notes, but just one note is the key, what is that note? That is the central note. Tonic Names Of The Twelve Notes In tonic solfege, names are given to this note. The first seven, which make up the major scale, is vocalized as: The remaining five have dual names to connote ascending or descending mode. For ascending or increasing mode, you may vocalize: ‘de-ri-fe-se-li’ Also, for descending or decreasing mode, you may vocalize: ‘do.’ ‘to-lo-so-mo-ro’ ‘do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti’ The original seven notes are what make up the major notes, and the remaining five notes make up the minor notes, but the one that is the key is the This note can be found at the beginning of a “What Is A Scale?” scale . A scale is a combination of notes arranged according to how it increases or decreases in pitch. The melody of a song is developed from a scale. It is easy to find the key if you are vocalizing a scale because the ‘do’ is in the beginning.
How To Find The Right Key In A Song
Knowledge Of The Sound Of Different Note
You need to know how different notes sound and feel.
Isolating ‘Do’ From Other Tonic Solfas
Isolate ‘do’ and study the feeling in comparison with ‘re, mi, fa, so, la, ti.’ Just vocalize two notes, ‘do’ and each of the other notes, one after the other. For example:
‘do’ and ‘re’
‘do’ and ‘mi’
‘do’ and ‘fa’
‘do’ and ‘so’
‘do’ and ‘la’
‘do’ and ‘ti’
When you repeat this exercise, you will notice that ‘do’ feels like home, kind of like, ‘I have arrived my destination,’ and some even define‘do,’ which is the key, as the home note of a music piece.Find Out The Note That Is Associated With The Melody Of The SongThere are certain parts of a song that ‘do’ appears in. One of such parts is at the end of the song. It might not be easy at first, but get the melody of a song, try to find out the note, and match it to the melody. When you do that, the note becomes clearer in your ear, and once you get to the end of a song or melody, memorize that end note – that is the key. Note that there are exceptions to this rule, but for beginners, this is a good place to start.
Follow The Bass Line
Another easy method is to follow the bass line. You can achieve this by vocalizing as if you’re playing the bass of your vocals. The bass sound makes it easy to follow progressions, and that is the fastest route to locating your ‘do,’ which is the key.Follow Chord Progressions Learn to follow chord progressions by listening to what the pianist or guitarist is playing. They seem to move from one level to the other.Their movement always revolves around ‘do.’ In most songs, they begin and end with ‘do.’ That is your key. That is all I need you to know for now. Even though you are a singer, you will be required to listen seventy percent of the time. Listening helps develop your ear to recognize notes, intervals, pitch.
