Say What You Want!

Another fun evening with the Cactus Gang. A combination of locals and locals to perform some new stuff and some old stuff.
I can say what I want in any way In see fit. John Hayes on Guitar, Pepper on the Bass, Tim doing vocals and Merlin "the magician" Boom on the buckets. Enjoy!

Looks like you got everything worked out and are going to stick around? ;)

Not quite that simple. Let's say I'm not gone yet, the quality of my posts will go down, and my focus will be elsewhere. The platform creators powering down 73 Million Steem and these flag wars do not inspire me, but remind me.

Am I misguided in thinking that the powering down is to level themselves out and put more steem back into rotation for the growing platform?

I can't answer that as I don't have any background information. For now all I can do is watch and take notes. Very valid question though, ...

Also, dont the flag wars reduce the amount of steem generated by negating eachother out, thus helping to keep the amount in check?

The apprentice (not quite the Magician yet) is surely hardly old enough to be let in? How do all those exotic people end up in that tiny café in the middle of nowhere?

Magician! No rehearsal and he plays an entire show; the kid is about 15! Most professional bands rehearse for a full 6 months before going on tour. He begged me to get him the music so he could rehearse at home, but my hands were tied; record company said No! Not the first time for something like this. I had another artist published with original material but when her vocal chords gave out, I had to pull the videos a week later as the record company now wants to record with another singer. ..the way it goes, few winners in this game. De Cactus is a bar where a musical society tries to host and promote upcoming talent. We've had as many as 5 bands in a single week, ranging from Country to full on Big band Jazz and Classical. Sometimes it seems like there are as many people on stage as there are in the audience and we can usually assemble a band within 24 hours notice if one of them cancels a show.

Ok, for 15, he deserves the title as well as the name of Merlin. So you are not only the video maker but also the promoter (or owner of said café)? Attracting record producers. I thought all that only happened in Amsterdam and not in the middle of cow pastures. Great going!

Merlin Boom is his real name and John Hayes is the real John Hayes from Mother's Finest. I'm only the video maker, but that also means I protect all parties involved; including drunks. I chose De Cactus because everything about working there is difficult, but often the level of musicianship is remarkable. The bigger theaters are easier to record in, have better sound and superior lights, but cost more and I'd be competing with 5 other guys. So I record in places that scare the other guys. Ok, off to getting needled.

The most precious gems take some digging. I have attended my fair share of jam-sessions, which were a lot more enjoyable than a couple of Jazz festivals I went to. Still curious how the Cactus knows how to find these amazing line-ups. I mean is Hengelo the kind of Detroit of the Netherlands?

(dry) Needling could be very restorative, but based on previous footage I doubt you mean acupuncture. I hope you return neither too drained nor too pumped up with god knows what.

Detroit? Ha, only about 80,000, so it's a small town about the size of Paducah Kentucky. I'm not sure how it works, but this café has always had music as it's theme. Quite a few musicians of all skill levels hang out here but what surprised me is that we get them from all over the world. Mozambique, Russia, USA, Canada, UK, Estonia, etc. For a Café of max. 125 occupants, the list is just ridiculous, but I'm happy it is that way. Needling as in previous footage.
