I improvised this Genevan Psalm on my home practice organ. The first verse has a melody in the right hand part and in the second verse they switch. Note-against-note counterpoint. Let me know your thoughts.

@organduo, It sounds really pleasant and your expressions are saying that you've also gained and consumed this pleasant essence from this musical session. Stay blessed.

I was glad I finished because my throat was sore.

In my opinion your efforts spread pleasant musical environment. Have a great time ahead.

This is amazing, I’m doing some practice with my little YAMAHA keyboard 🎹

I’ll love to be a good pianist and hopefully should be able to secure a piano big piano one day.

I love pianists which was why I started following you @organdua.

Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm an organist but thank you!

I bet you could also practice to improvise on the Yamaha like that. Take any melody in the right hand and add intervals of thirds, sixths, fifths or octaves in the left hand. Avoid parallel fifths and octaves by using contrary motion. Then switch hands. Play the melody in the left hand one octave lower and the counterpoint (the improvised melody) in the right hand.

Hello Mr. @organduo. You play the organ very beautiful. I like it.

Thank you! Organ sounds calm my mind. Do you play an instrument too?

Yes, I play violin ... I'm studying. This week the academy is going to change the instrument for a bigger one, the one assigned to me since I was 6 years old and it is already very small. Right now I am 8 years old.

I like music very much. Very beautiful and amazing music. I like it.

Thank you! I hope you will make a recording of you playing and share it here.

How nice it sounds, beautiful melody!
I love your organ !!! Is it made with pine wood? I love that wood since I was a little girl my dad is a carpenter and he made me furniture for dolls with pine wood

The panels and bench are made out of ash. It has lighter color than pine. I believe the keyboards are made of pine.

Oh ok, it's very similar to pine.

Maybe fir tree... I'm not sure.

Just recently safely home from my long trip away @organduo and really enjoyed listening to this. On my "things to do list," as I said I would once home, is to go back and follow up on your provided link about your account name. If not before, you will hear from me again, once I have read through that.

While not a musician myself, our mother always ensured music was playing - classical music - most all of the time. So, your playing was pleasant to my ears. Much of the music today, I cannot say that about. Even before reading your provided link, I can tell you have been playing for a long time ...

As a Christian, if not an inappropriate question, I would be very interested to know the story behind the selection of this particular Psalm for your improvisation. I have pulled it up, while I was listening to you play. I ask, as I would imagine it was not selected at random.

I hope you are successful with this post and entry into the music contest you cite at the beginning!

I routinely improvise from my Genevan Psalm Book to practice my skill. So next will be Psalm 37 and before that was Psalm 35...

Okay, very interesting @organduo that an ancient book is the source of inspiration for practicing and keeping your skills honed.

Have a great day!
