This project has been waiting in my closet for awhile. Sometimes I just build something when I'm waiting for the glue or paint to dry in some other project. This one started just like that. Now the goal is to get this ready before Christmas. I need a bass guitar so there's no reason not to complete this asap.
The body is made out of alder and spalted birch. In Finland we have also maple, but not so much. Birch has very similar looks to maple and that's why I like to use it. I absolutely love flamed birch tops on guitars. You can check this site for example of great use of birch tops: http://ruokangas.com/
Fretboard will be also made out of something which translator says to be "cultivar of silver birch". It has lots of knots grown inside the wood and also some flame figures.
Other specs are:
- 4 strings
- fanned fret 34´-35´scale
- Music man pickup with active eq
The neck in the picture is just for measuring and inspirational purposes.
