Trap is dying

in music •  6 years ago  (edited)

With the oversaturation of Trap music for the past couple of years, the trend is finally dying down. With the lattest most famous example of “trap” being Plug Walk, riding off the success of past hit songs such as XO Tour Life by Lil Uzi Vert etc. Jumpy beats, easy to remember punch lines, and of course, the gratification of subjects such as drugs and money.

I predict that the next big music genre would be hybrid trap, which showcases producer skills. Producers such as Flume have gained global recognition with his different style of production, which is what I think people are getting caught onto nowadays. Of course, RNB is also one of the other genres that came up with Trap, but it seems like RNB is here to stay abit longer on the top charts.

For HipHop producers/rappers out there, I would advice against going all in on experimenting solely on hiphop, rap can be done on many ways, and this is definitely one of the best times to really push yourselves to see what can be made uniquely yours.
