Definition of the art of music

The term as such of music comes from ancient Greece, and means the art of the muses. Then, from what has been said, one thing remains clear: music is an art, so there are rules or guidelines that must be followed to carry it out.

However, because of its nature as an art, these guidelines are not laws, and we can carry out music in the way that best suits us.

Music is the art of organizing sounds in time. But not all sounds (although it may be), but a series of sounds that have already been arbitrarily arranged.

The purpose of music is to provide a sensory experience in the listener, although it goes much further. Music provides emotions, and evokes them; so it's a very, very popular phenomenon nowadays.

Music has many functions. For example, it can be used as an entertainment, or as a setting, so that a cinematographic work is enriched from it.

Music can also be used for communication.
