Hi Everyone,

Remember, the marching band doesn't go to the scrimmages, though!

So, in South Eastern Pennsylvania, that's where to go this year to see some great high school band performances. If I recall correctly, the pre-game show generally starts at 6:30 (don't be late and leave time to park and walk through a crowded lot!) and the second band takes the field at half time. You can even stay and watch some of that famous Pennsylvania football if that sort of thing interests you. ; -)

Also, remember to patronize the concession stands at the games!!!! I hear that it's the band's main source of revenue, and to get to Disney this year, we're going to need revenue.

Let's see what youtube has to tell us about some of those other bands that we're going to see!

Here is the Kennett marching band at last year's Mushroom Festival Parade

I forget the exact number, but did you know that something like 50% of the mushrooms eaten in the United States are grown here in Chester County?

Here is Penn Wood at Connestoga in 2017 with a show titled, "Top Secret".

And here is Coatesville with their 2017, "Yes I Can" show at the Cavalcade of Bands

One of the few shows that my old brain still remembers seeing live last year.

Oxford High School: Nothing recent, but here they are with a 2010 Piano Man show featuring music by Billy Joel.

Here's Unionville in a 2017 Calvade of Bands

Blurry video, but the sound quality is good.

And here are the Sun Valley Marching Vanguards on Main Street in a Disney parade in 2017

Nice view of Cinderella's castle in the background, too...

Here's Great Valley in a 2017 Cavalcade performance:

The video is a little out of focus, but the sound quality is good. The solos in the first piece were nicely done.

Finally, here are our sister bands in the West Chester Area School District

West Chester East in a 2016 Cavalcade

And West Chester Henderson at a football game last year in Chester.

So I hope everyone is ready, because like it or not, the school year is upon us. Here we go!
