Hi there,
Around a month ago I did a reprod of DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” (a song that you have surely heard of). Few days ago rappers A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Fabolous made a song called “Wild Thots” using my reprod instrumental with few modifications (chopping, low pass filter etc.).
You can clearly hear the similarity:
Wild Thots:
My version:
My instrumental is freely downloadable (from YouTube description) with notes that one should credit me if one uses the beat in some way. A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Fabolous haven’t sadly given me any credit. Although, I am certain that they are not breaking any laws, it is still quite unmannered not to credit me (if nothing else).
I have tried to contact them via different channels but without result. Even my YouTube comment got hidden from their video after receiving almost 400 likes being one of the top comments.
Like I stated in the comment, I understand that the melody is not invented by me but the fact stands that the reprod instrumental is produced by me. Someone is also making money via ads on the video 🤔. Although, the money maker might be Mr. Khaled himself. “He” made a demand to show some ads on my video as well. That's fine.
Do you guys thing that I have some rights to "demand" anything from A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Fabolous? The situation is a little sketchy in many ways. All I am asking is some credit 😊.
Take care.
Rad! Keep rocking!
