RIP Marcus Intalex Aka Trevino A Drum And Bass (DnB) & Techno Legend

in music •  7 years ago

Marcus Kaye aka Marcus Intlex aka Trevino the legendary DnB/Techno producer passed away yesterday, 5/28/2017. His cause of death is unknown. I'm saddened, literally sobbing a bit to hear of his passing as he was such an inspiration to me many years ago, but so grateful that he left us with an incredible catalog of music. The list is long, but Universe was one of my favorite tracks of his and his remix of Uncut's "Midnight" is perhaps one of the finest DnB tunes ever made.

He pioneered what we called Liquid Funk in DnB in the late 90's, early 2000's. My DJ partner YU and I always rocked his tunes and they where part of our soundtrack in Tokyo circa 2001. His DnB had so much funk and soul and was such a contrast to the harder, darker DnB at the time. He could definitely rock the harder side as well though with tunes like "Moonwalk". Enjoy some of his classics below.

Cheers Marcus, guess the afterlife needed some liquid funk and THANK YOU!

Enjoy the finer side of DnB like we always did.

Uncut "Midnight" (remix)

Universe on Metalheadz

Solid State "Just A Vision" (remix)

4 Hero "9 x 9" (remix)

I had no idea. How sad. He's one of my favorite producers.

Ya, was pretty broken up when it happened. Guess we're all getting a bit old. His older stuff was flawless.

Yes, he will be missed, but he lives one with his music.
