Idiopan Tank Drum

Here are a few compositions on my Idiopan tank drum. I have an Idiopan Dominus ten tongue drum. Each tongue can be tuned individually via a slideable magnet below the tongue.

This is the first composition on my Idiopan. I have the idiopan with some hand drums in the background and an acoustic guitar lead later on in the song. I have it tuned to C major and this allows standard tuned guitars to improvise easily with the Idiopan. This composition is a test of nine separate tracks on the idiopan with each track featuring a different type of sound you can get out of the Idiopan. It is a very versatile instrument. This composition combines a couple tracks of Idiopan with electric guitars, bass and some other drums. It works well as a subtle bell-like tone in the backgrounds of the song. This composition combines five Idiopan tracks with a frame drum, shaker and banjo. You can form the bass of the song around the Idiopan riffs. This composition employs only one track of idiopan to add an ambient background sound. This is a short improvisation with some ambient effects added to bring dimension to the sound of the Idiopan. This is another solo composition on the Idiopan with ambient effects added via my Axe Fx II effects processor. This is an improvisation on my dominus idiopan. Once the idiopan track was recorded on my zoom h6 I added a few percussion tracks via my Roland Handsonic. Some of the Handsonic tracks include various hand drums, shakers and cowbells. The final track is my Martin concert sized acoustic guitar. I recorded a direct signal and a zoom h6 track to try and blend the two signals for a hybrid acoustic sound.
