Under the pseudonym Dussias, Venezuelan artist Daniel Francis will launch his first solo EP, titled Caverna Animarum, on February 20th, 2020.

Former guitarist of ClubHouse, participant of the Nuevas Bandas Deluxe Festival in 2017, Dussias presents this work in a totally independent fashion, including art, promotion, publishing, production, and musicianship.

After the dissolution of ClubHouse, the bandmates took different paths. Some immediately migrated from the country, others decided to focus on their careers while the two remaining members would form several projects, still focused on Caribbean music, resulting in the band known as Anakena.

Daniel Francis, guitarist and founding member of ClubHouse, who still resides in Venezuela, decides in 2018 to design a space to keep writing and distributing music in a semi-sustainable way, taking into account the precarious state of the country and that forming a band from scratch would not be viable. These and other factors gave birth to Dussias, a project focused on honest expression and freedom of creation within the existing restrictions. After multiple composition and recording sessions, Caverna Animarum was born, an instrumental EP that can be classified within the genres of Psychedelic Rock and Stoner Metal. The record invites the listener to participate in Dussias’ interior journey, to see what’s been cultivated in the years after the dissolution of ClubHouse and listen to the result of hundreds of meditations and inner battles between the love of creating art and the drive for surviving in Venezuela.

Even though live shows are not planned, they are also not discarded. Dussias created this EP under the lens of sending a message through music. His experience in ClubHouse showed him that participating in a live appearance derives in costs and risks, impossible to face without the financial support of third parties or sponsors. Seeing that the support of third parties tends to imply non-ideal artistic decisions, Dussias opted for the love of art and sincerity as the main strategy in his work.

Caverna Animarum will be available on 02/20/2020, through the many different digital platforms such as Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, CD Baby and more. YouTube will be available on a future date.

Currently, Dussias only interacts with media sources through Twitter and Gmail (twitter.com/dussiasofficial and [email protected] respectively)
