Rock n Roll Thursday - Bowling For Soup + The Seeds

in music •  8 years ago  (edited)

Time to take your weekly dose of rock n roll. Two prime tracks of guitar-led goodness await.

I'm gonna go back to my early teenage years for this first one: Bowling for Soup - Girl All the Bad Guys Want.

Although my tastes have changed a lot from my early days of discovering rock, I can still listen to this song with great enjoyment! I love the clever, playful lyrics and chugging pop punk guitar. The video is cool as well, and features a real hottie who I was seriously in love with (...still am a bit).

Best Lyric: She likes 'em with a moustache / Back-stage season pass / Driving in a Trans-Am / Does a mullet make a man?

Now fire up the Time Machine, and dial in 1965. Here are The Seeds with their jangly little number about unrequited love - Can't Seem To Make You Mine.

For those new to this -

The format works like this. One Retro Throwback, anything from the 60s & 70s or 80s, and One Modern Masterpiece, from the 90s onwards.

Hope u enjoy - Let me know what you think -and feel free to throw your own rockin tracks into the comments!
