Hey Joe was my "ultimate" campsite song, whenever I was at the campsite with my parents and brought my accoustic guitar with me, this was always a song I played... The beach boys always makes a smile on my face...cheerfull song !!

I don't like camping, but I'd have happily joined you just to sing along with that and join in the rest of the music<BR<Sounds like loads of fun

Cool :) and thanks !!

Great selection. I confess to being surprised you're that old.

Me too! Life caught up with me, but I still feel young, mostly. Can you imagine being on the gig scene back then? I've known people who saw Hendrix play. I think there was an element of luck as to whether it was a great show. Too many drugs.

I love That we can see so many shows on youtube that used to be almost impossible to come across unless you knew the guy who knew the bootleg guy! Watching Jimi's performances you can see songs that may be not his best version but in the context of the entire show he always turns it back on. He's really in a class of his own. Talking to the audience and making little jokes. There's stuff where he makes a mistake and just plays through and ends up doing something different. I love how he wasn't doing a over rehearsed "perfect" predictable show. So few bands do that. I think people forget that at that time what he was really doing and how every other band and especially guitar players were completely blown away. There was no shrugging him off like he was just another guy playing guitar

I remember the days when I used to go to Collectionist vinyl fairs and apart from vinyls and some cassettes, there were Bootleg VHS of concerts. They were so expensive and you had to ask the seller about quality of the recording and then trust him (or not). After VHS it came the Bootleg DVD's and then I started downloading bootlegs from the internet. It all ended when Youtube arrived, from then you have the chance to see the bootlegs through Youtube even in your Smart TV.

It had to be incredible to see Jimi Hendrix live. Those days people had to think that he was just arrived from another planet.

A long long time ago i was able to get a hold of a few vinyl bootlegs but never did buy any video. Turns out that a friend from High School had been in the bootleg business for some time and i had no idea! He never told any of us. Probably a smart idea! There are couple of guys i found on Youtube with a lot of Zeppelin, Stones, Peter green era Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, and really rare unheard of stuff from the 60 and early 70's. he has more but that era is my favorite to check out. Hearing all the early Zepplin stuff is pretty amazing. Recording quality varies but i don't mind mostly.

Everybody thinks that no one can make a song like 90's. Here in Bollywood Industry people still miss the 90's song because it gives another kind of happiness which are irreplaceable

great songs .... Thank you for being there

It's fun to look back at what I've listened to. I may not do every year.

Thanks for following the invite @steevc

I like any excuses to write about music

Pick years from when you were born to now.

Glad its not the year I was born, 2000 didn't have many good songs... if you get my meaning ;)

Nice pics! I grew up listening to the Beach Boys. I think my sister has seen them in concert multiple times. She is a bigger fan than me. They have some great tunes though.

I grew up with some of this music, but it tended to be the more pop stuff on the radio and my parents were more into stuff from the 50s. I had to discover some of it for myself later.

My favorite years of music are the 2006-2012 US post hardcore scene, Loved every bit of it. Great times.
