Last night I was at another event in the Arlesey Music and Arts Festival. This was a concert by my friend Jon Boys who, as well as being a fine musician is also a business coach and firewalker! He played some covers, including Imagine. I thought that was a little ironic to play in a church. He also played some of his own songs based on experiences with people he's helped.
The concert was in St Peter's church in Arlesey. I'm not a churchgoer, but I've been in there a few times for events. It's a great old building dating back to the 12th century with lots of original features including the font and some medieval wood carvings. I was there at the weekend for an organ recital by Michael Overbury. The vicar said he hadn't heard so many sounds from the 100 year old organ before. It's really an early synthesiser and he made it sing.
My picture of the church, processed by Google. This was just on my phone.
There are a few more events still to go. Tonight me group of Arlesey Musicians will be jamming at the White Horse. We're there every week. When I heard about the festival I contacted the vicar who organised it to make him aware that there were some other musicians around. I'm trying to get more people together to make music. It's certainly expanded my social circle and we're having a lot of fun.
Must be a wonderful and very open vicar. Looks like his life will become even more expansive too.

He certainly seems like a nice guy. I'm not religious, but happy to talk to anyone as long as they don't preach to me.
