On this day, December 8th, 39 years ago a piece of barely human trash called out to John Lennon as he was walking up to his building in New York and, when John turned to face him, this fucking spineless piece of shit shot John Lennon dead.

I was 9 years old at the time and though I was not yet a Beatles fan, I still remember the news coverage that evening.

Love him or not John Lennon's impact on pop culture, society in general really, is UNDENIABLE. As a part of the Beatles in the 60s or as a solo artist and human being, until that fucking horrible day, John Lennon was a fucking force of nature and he paid for it with his life.
